Meet our new Lead Energy Engineer

We are delighted to announce that last month we expanded our team at Environmental Strategies Ltd! Dr Sean Casey has joined us as a Lead Energy Engineer. Sean has a diverse background in several fields including Engineering, Construction and Further/Higher Education. He holds a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering, an MSc in Energy Conversion and Management, (focused on energy, renewables and Carbon Capture Storage) and a PhD in Engineering from Nottingham University.

Sean’s PhD research was on Building Physics, specifically the use of nano-engineered coatings to reduce humidity in newly retrofitted, air-tight buildings. As a Research Fellow he managed a research project on thermochemical energy storage which involved the development of nano-composite materials for the capture and storage of solar heat energy during the summer period and release of that heat during the winter period.

In 2015 Sean joined the DN Colleges Group as a lecturer and Programme Leader for their Foundation Degree in Integrated Engineering before becoming Head of Department for HE Engineering, Science and Technology.

We look forward to working with Sean and will benefit from the depth of Engineering expertise he brings to ESL in supporting our clients on their net zero and environmental improvement journeys.
