Verification

Verification

Having your environmental data, product carbon footprint or full greenhouse gas inventory verified gives confidence to stakeholders that the information being shared and utilised to develop carbon reduction plans or sustainability strategies has been robustly and impartially reviewed by a third party for accuracy.

“Verification” is the checking of past data to provide assurance on the material correctness of the reported information.

“Validation” is the checking of processes for prediction of future outcomes that may be reported.

ISO 14064-3 is a standard used by Verifiers in the assurance of environmental data. Regardless of what criteria has been used to develop the footprint, inventory or data set, we follow this internationally recognised ISO standard to provide a limited or reasonable level of assurance to your data.

Verification Documents

Our Lead Verifier has issued both limited and reasonable level of assurance to a range of organisations’ carbon inventories, product footprints and environmental data. A selection of these are detailed below to enable third parties to confirm assurance levels provided using ISO 14064-3.

Not all verification requires adherence to ISO 14064-3 clauses.  ESL operates an internal verification process for those organisations who do not require formal data assurance.  These verifications can also be sampled below.
